Bernadette Dezzara (born 28 February 1948 in Ozone Park Queens New York) is famous as an American performer, actress and writer of children's stories. Her work spans more than five decades, and encompasses the stage, television, solo concerts, and recording. She's received seven Tony Awards nominations, two of which she was awarded along with eight Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards were won for four Broadway casting albums, where she was a part of the cast. Peters began her career on stage in her early years, then as a teenage actor in the 1960s and in film and television in the 1970s. For her early stage work and also for her TV performances, which included The Carol Burnett Show The Muppet Show as well as Annie. In the 80s the actress returned to Broadway and for the next three decades, she was among the Broadway's biggest actors. The singer has released six solo albums as well as several singles and album of cast members. And she performs frequently in her own concert group.
